CHALLENGE

This project was entrusted to us by one of the leading companies in the collective catering market which is present in more than 60 countries and has over 360,000 employees, who daily work to ensure the same standards of service delivered globally. The company in fact offers a wide range of services, selected especially for consumers, companies, schools and healthcare providers, covering various sectors, from catering to support services and the management of meal vouchers.

The challenge was to be able to upgrade the ERP Oracle JD Edwards management system, already used by the customer, integrated with an application used by the meal operating and manufacturing units throughout the country to manage daily catering and service activities.

The phases that characterized this project are as follows:

  • From 2014 to the first half of 2015 we developed evolutionary maintenance work on Oracle JD Edwards software;
  • During the second half of 2015 we upgraded the Oracle JD Edwards management system to a newer version, called Enterprise One 9.1, outsourcing to an outside provider all the basic hardware and software of the company;
  • From 2016 to the present we have provided continuous customer support on the management system both for evolutionary activities and for current procedures improvement.

SOLUTION
  • Provide the customer with a unique management system capable of governing processes that were previously managed externally, such as the handling of meal vouchers delivered, sold and withdrawn by individual operating units;
  • Improve operation on some business processes (active invoicing to some important customers or the interface with the new scanner system of passive invoices);
  • Improve some steps of monthly closing processes such as accrual management, petty cash book management, and closing of management assets.
IMPACT

The update covered all business areas and all interfaces with the systems outside the management system by providing the customer with a highly compatible and totally renewed management system.
