CHALLENGE

Just before the whole world came to a standstill due to the Covid-19 emergency, our Team concluded a new and challenging internationalization project.

This time we were called by LimaCorporate, a company operating worldwide, specialized in the production and marketing of medical devices and orthopedic prostheses, to extend their Oracle JDE E1 management system in their new Brazilian subsidiary.

LimaCorporate has always had a “global philosophy” which over the years has led to the opening of 25 foreign branches. In order to obtain a “corporate” vision of the entire group, it is necessary to rely on a single management system, able to provide a complete integration of the data collected and to facilitate the management, both from a logistical and financial point of view, of the information between one office and another. After having carried out, over the years, for LimaCorporate several Roll Out projects of Oracle JDE E1 at worldwide level, the Alfa Sistemi team has joined the Customer directly in its branch in Sao Paulo, to support him in the most important phases of the project, such as user training and on-site presence at the time of the go-live and in the following weeks.

SOLUTION

Although Oracle JDE E1 is already equipped with a civil-tax localization for Brazil, our consultants have studied and analyzed in detail the specifics of Brazilian regulations in order to implement the solution that best met the needs and peculiarities of the Lima business. The project, which started in October 2019 with the requirements analysis phase, concluded in March 2020, just before the Italian lockdown, with the Go-Live. Our consultants, after a first phase of live support carried out directly at the Brazilian headquarters of the customer, have returned to Italy from where they continue the support activities, now fully managed remotely. The objective of completing the project on schedule was achieved thanks to the commitment of our consultants, who faced the challenges of this project with professionalism and seriousness, and thanks to the team spirit that was created with the Brazilian and Italian teams of LimaCorporate. All this has been possible only thanks to LimaCorporate which, also in this case, has chosen to entrust Alfa Sistemi with such a strategic project.

IMPACT

The main challenge of this project lay in the complexity of the fiscal apparatus established by Brazilian legal requirements, which the management system absolutely had to take into account in order to fully respond not only to the logistical but also to the administrative needs of the branch.
