The challenge
The Gatto Group’s story began in 1937 when Gatto Astucci Spa was established. Today, the Group is a leader in designing and manufacturing eyeglass cases, high-end packaging, displays, and innovative point-of-sale communication solutions across multiple product sectors. Its manufacturing sites are located in Italy, Croatia and China where more than 600 people are employed. Based on its experience, the Group knows that the right technology—and the right technology partner—can make all the difference.
The first project—which launched a 15-year partnership—took place in 2009 when Gatto Astucci decided to implement Oracle JD Edwards ERP, which is still currently in use for the Displays and Customer Engagement divisions.
While adopting an international ERP represented a significant change for a company accustomed to less structured processes, the client’s real challenge was not the new system—it was finding not just a supplier, but a true partner capable of supporting the company through every stage of its business activities.

The solution
Our partnership began with the implementation of Oracle JD Edwards—a decision that has proven highly successful. By providing a much more efficient management control, based on reliable and timely data, the system allowed the company to grow, achieve significant results over the years, and now consider adopting Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
Sustainability is another key issue for the client. It has been considered a strategic differentiator since 2013, enabled by technology and digitization. From this perspective, an ERP solution integrated with sustainability-related data—such as raw material traceability and carbon footprint monitoring throughout the product life cycle—unlocks significant potential.
