The challenge
Founded in Italy and operating globally, MCZ is a leading name in home heating solutions.
In 2021, the company embarked on a digital transformation journey with two main goals: modernizing the electronic components of its stoves and creating an advanced digital ecosystem to connect products and users more effectively.
Beyond improving the user experience, MCZ wanted to reconnect directly with its end customers, without the intermediation of dealers and service centers. To achieve this, the company needed an advanced IoT platform and a completely redesigned app. This new app had to go far beyond a remote control tool; it had to evolve into a true management and monitoring tool.
The previous app, developed for earlier product generations, had not met the company’s expectations. And while MCZ had explored several IoT solutions, none seemed to fully address its business needs.

The solution
The partnership with Tempestìve—a company within the Alfa Sistemi Group specializing in IoT and Artificial Intelligence—marked a major step forward for MCZ.
Beyond the technology itself, MCZ was impressed by the team’s pragmatic, collaborative approach aimed at understanding business needs and providing tangible solutions.
At the core of the project was Nuboj, Tempestìve’s modular IoT platform, capable of quickly adapting to MCZ’s needs. By choosing a market-ready platform instead of developing a new one from scratch, MCZ was able to shorten implementation time while ensuring a solid and reliable technological foundation.
The first phase focused on connecting MCZ stoves, enabling users to manage them remotely through a new app. Initially, the app replicated the functions of a digital remote control, but as data collection began, valuable insights revealed how users interacted with their products, paving the way for continuous improvement.
Over time, mutual trust between MCZ and Tempestìve allowed the project to evolve with new features that improved both the user experience and after-sales performance.
Among the most significant developments:
- Advanced monitoring of consumption and diagnostics, helping users optimize stove performance.
- Remote assistance, allowing service centers to troubleshoot issues without on-site visits, improving operating efficiency.
- Remote firmware updates, ensuring fast updates without physically accessing the hardware.
- Integration with voice assistants like Alexa, for a more intuitive user experience.
As the partnership grew, MCZ asked Tempestìve to extend the project’s scope—developing dedicated apps for technicians and for an MCZ Group company based in France—thus deepening the trust between the two companies.
Tempestìve’s fast response and flexibility in managing the company’s requests and adapting to its needs further strengthened the partnership. The project success led MCZ to take another step: entrusting Tempestìve with the development of a new, backward-compatible app for earlier product generations—solving previous limitations and ensuring long-term usability.
Ultimately, the partnership went beyond the provision of technology solutions. It became a shared growth path that transformed a connected product into a truly intelligent management platform.
Benefits and results
Three years after adopting Nuboj and its new digital ecosystem, MCZ has achieved measurable improvements in both customer experience and operational efficiency.
